The Challenge
Clients often have a vision for how they want a space to look and feel, but translating that vision into a functional, cohesive and executable design requires balancing aesthetics, budget, space constraints, materials, timelines, and client preferences.
My Role
As Founder, I was responsible for taking projects from concept through execution, including understanding client needs, developing design directions, selecting materials and coordinating the delivery of the final space.
What I Did
- Translated client preferences and lifestyle requirements into design concepts.
- Developed cohesive design directions across residential and short-stay spaces.
- Selected materials, finishes, furniture and decorative elements.
- Coordinated design decisions against practical space and budget considerations.
- Managed the process from concept development through implementation.
The Outcome
Built an independent creative business delivering interior design solutions across residential spaces, remodels and short-stay rentals.
What I Learned
Creative work still requires disciplined project management.
I learned that the strongest outcomes come from balancing vision, constraints, client expectations, resources and execution rather than treating creativity as separate from operational delivery.
